Friday, January 06, 2012---HipLink Software, a technology leader in platform software for enterprise notification used in incident response and emergency notification, will become the primary sponsor for Henkelman Motorsports. The team will field an A/Fuel Dragster in the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series and at NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series events in 2012 in preparation for a transition to Top Fuel in 2013. Tuning duties will be shared by recognized Top Fuel tuner Rick Henkelman and 2011 Lucas Oil Top Alcohol Dragster championship tuner Dana Hopewell, with Garrett Bateman handling the driving duties.

“We are extremely excited to be teaming up with Henkelman Motorsports for 2012 and beyond,” said Pamela LaPine, CEO of HipLink. “The level of quality players involved in this program made our selection process for sponsorship an easy one. We weighed a number of marketing vehicles for 2012 and felt that NHRA Drag Racing provided us the unique level of exposure we were looking for. Steve Strope did an incredible job readying our brand for NHRA Drag Racing, and we are already eyeing a migration to Top Fuel. We look forward to competing and to entertaining our clients and partners in this high-profile sport."

Custom-car builder Strope of Pure Vision is part of the team and managed the design process for the race car personally. He has appeared regularly on car and racing television shows, including the critically acclaimed RIDES“My goal was to illustrate the power of HipLink’s communications software with the speed of NHRA Drag Racing,” he explained of his design. “The HipLink DNA is fully integrated into the look of the dragster, with some hot rod flare from Pure Vision. It’s been great to work with HipLink and with Henkelman Motorsports. We expect great things from this team, and I look forward to being at the track with the organization as time permits."

Top Fuel certainly is not a new class to owner and co-crew chief Henkelman. With numerous No. 1 qualifying efforts and NHRA national event wins in Top Fuel and the Lucas Oil Series, Henkelman is eagerly looking toward picking up where he left off.

“I can’t tell you how honored I am to return to the sport and bring a sponsor like HipLink into NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing,” he said. “These guys are accustomed to winning and really belong in the sport. In addition, many of my longtime associate sponsors such as NGK, ARP, and ClearBoost oil immediately got behind our program. Dana Hopewell's involvement was actually the final decision-maker for me to come back to the sport I love. With Dana, anything is possible. The last time I was at the track was at the Sonoma national event tuning for J.R Todd. We put it on the pole with a 3.811 and went to the semifinals. Developing power is something I really enjoy, and working with Dana again makes me confident that we will be competitive."

Henkelman Motorsports, HipLink Software, and Pure Vision will be unveiling the car at the 2012 Grand Nationals Roadster Show at the Fairplex in Pomona at the end of January. The team will test in Las Vegas before competing at the season-opening O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Winternationals presented by Super Start Batteries in Pomona in February.
