LOS GATOS, California – August 9, 2013 – HipLink® Software, a leading provider of wireless messaging and notification solutions, enjoyed placing Runner Up with its sponsored Top Alcohol dragster driven by Garrett Bateman last weekend. After winning the first three rounds of eliminations for Top Alcohol Dragster at the 26th annual O'Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Northwest Nationals held at the Pacific Raceways at Kent, Washington, Bateman placed as runner up in the final eliminations round.

An important aspect of this race is that driver, Garrett Bateman, achieved exceptional response times of 0.024 seconds in Eliminations Round 1 (the fastest overall response time for all of the eliminations), 0.035 seconds in Round 2, and 0.076 seconds in Round 3.  In the final race Garrett’s response was an impressive 0.011.

Garrett shared his reaction after the race.  “The race was awesome and a good representation of what we are capable of! It was lucky to get into the Semis, but any drag racer will tell you sometimes you need a little luck to win one of these things!”

“Car owner and tuner, Rick Henkelman, made some great calls with the tune up for that race and the car ran well all day. My reaction times were great all day as well, with an average of .035 for the weekend. The crew composed of Brandon Henkelman, Tyson Parker, and myself did an exceptional job servicing the car. The support and help from my wife Carrie and Rick's wife Linda was remarkable.”

“The main thing also is to thank all the sponsor support. In addition to HipLink, we have Pure Vision, NGK and CleanBoost Oil.”

Lastly, he added “It's amazing! We started off the weekend by losing a run due to a failed fuel line and next thing we know, we are in the final! Just goes to show that you never know what can happen at a drag race!”

“This has been an exciting year and one spent testing new equipment. We are pleased with the performance of the car and our driver Garrett Bateman,” said Pamela LaPine, CEO of HipLink.  “We look forward to our next races in Las Vegas and Pomona and to sharing that excitement with our friends and customers as we compete in these races.”
