HipLink Dragster Performance and Momentum Continue to Grow

For Immediate Release

LOS GATOS, California/January 30, 2014 HipLink® Software, a leading provider of wireless messaging and notification solutions, has renewed its dragster sponsorship with Henkelman Motorsports and announced the 2014 schedule of NHRA drag racing events that the HipLink Alcohol/Fuel car will compete in.

HipLink will open up the racing season at the NHRA Winternationals held at the Auto Club Raceway at Pomona, California on February 6th-9th.

Rick Henkelman, owner of Henkelman Motorsports, commented, “The Garrett Bateman driven car is a Nitro fed, raging bull, guided missile. We look to continue our advancements in 2014 with the help and partnership of HipLink.”

Reflecting on last year’s racing, Pamela LaPine, CEO and President of HipLink commented, “There were some remarkable moments that surpassed what we had seen before. Each race was progressively faster and more exciting than the last.”

In 2013, the HipLink dragster placed 13th overall nationally and enjoyed a first place win at Woodburn, Oregon, where driver Garrett Bateman raced against other Top Alcohol Dragster headlining drivers that include Chris Demke who was #2 in the US, Shawn Cowie, Joey Severance, Jeff Ashwell, Ray Martin, Megan McKernan, and Gregg Lawrence. Competing in the 2013 Lucas Oil Western Region race in Las Vegas, the HipLink dragster placed runner up to Whiteley with a time of 5.322, 261.83 compared to Whiteley’s 5.317, 271.02, a difference of less than .005 seconds.

Henkelman added, “2013 was a terrific year for the HipLink-Henkelman Motorsports A-Fuel Dragster. With Tony and Pam LaPine behind us, we had a series of final round and podium finishes that hoisted us to the #4 finish for the year. By the time we got to the World Finals at Pomona, we ran the quickest time and speed for the class for the entire year (5.22sec./275mph).”

HipLink Software is the primary sponsor for Henkelman Motorsports, fielding an A/Fuel Dragster at NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series events. HipLink driver, Garrett Bateman, carries multiple racing licenses including an NHRA Top Alcohol A/Fuel Dragster license and he also earned his class A License at Bonneville in 2009 while setting a new land speed record in AA/BGC at 222.768 mph in a full bodied 1967 Barracuda.

As speed and reliability play a critical role to HipLink customers, so too is the power of HipLink technology conveyed in its race car. The HipLink A/Fuel Dragster won Best-In-Class honors at the Grand National Roadster Show, January 2012 in Pomona, California.
